to cultivate and create THROUGH film, we have...

1. PARTICIPATED annually in the El Paso 48 Hour Film Challenge

Our film "I've Been Pepper" received Best Musical Score and Bets Use of Character, along with being showed as a finalist at a paid-admission screening.

"It was my favorite film that was submitted... it... show[ed] a very unique vision, voice, humor, and craft."

Judge Zach Passero on "Musical Mondays"

2. grown the el paso cinema society, enriching over thirty members

Weekly lectures, video lessons, and active sets educating members on the filmmaking process (including cinematography, directing, screenwriting, and more).

Movie nights of classical films and subsequent critiques of structure, character arcs, film techniques, and story elements.

Breakout groups for a more individualistic movie-making experience, allowing each member to drive details such as shooting schedules and script supervision whilst pursuing their artistic vision.

3. held the eve's end film showing

This film showcase displayed the works of selected national filmmakers from states such as California to Washington.

Though the genres ranged from horror to romance, each film was connected by the common theme of regression and progress.

Key-note speaker Drew-Meyer Oakes, director of the El Paso Film Commission, spoke of the ambition of young filmmakers and the necessity to create in this border region.

Hundreds of dollars were raised for First Presbyterian Preschool, an educational center focused on self-guided curriculums and experiential learning through the Reggio Emilia approach.
